Patricia Ann Banks-Richardson
February 18, 1947 – February 11, 2026

With hearts full of aloha, we celebrate the life and spirit of Patricia Ann “Trish” Banks-Richardson, who journeyed peacefully into the embrace of her ancestors on February 11, 2026. Born on February 18, 1947, Trish was the beloved daughter of Myrtis Banks, and the first blossom in a family that would grow with deep love and resilience.

Raised in Chicago’s Ida B. Wells Extensions, she carried with her a warm, radiant energy that touched every space she entered. Trish was a proud graduate of Doolittle Elementary and Dunbar Vocational High School. Trish built friendships and memories as enduring as island stone.

She later married Phillip Oscar Richardson, and from this union came two cherished children, Krystal Renee and Phillip Junior. Though life carried her through seasons of change, Trish’s strength and devotion as a mother remained steadfast as the tides. She built a successful career as a systems analyst at the First National Bank of Chicago, paving her own path with determination and grace.

Trish’s heart danced to rhythms rooted in culture and joy. After beginning with belly dancing, she soon found her true artistic home in Hawaiian and Polynesian dance. Performing with her dear friends as “The Stars of the South Pacific,” she expressed beauty, storytelling, and the spirit of aloha through movement—sharing light with all who watched her.

She now joins in peaceful rest her mother; her siblings Chester McCormick and Pamala Banks; and her beloved daughter, Krystal Renee. She is carried forward in love by her son Phillip Jr. (Wytress); her brothers Kevin J. McCormick (LaDonna), Craig McCormick, Michael McCormick (Yvonne), and Eric McCormick (Lucinda); her sister Kimberly McCormick; her granddaughters Jordan Richardson and Bailey Richardson; her great grandchildren Kylie and Bryson; and a large ohana of nieces and nephews who will forever keep her memory close.

In Hawaiian tradition, they say a hui hou—until we meet again. Trish’s story continues in every life she shaped, every dance she shared, and every smile she gave so freely. May her spirit rest like a gentle wave upon the shore, eternal and serene.
